so I knew I’d be having a delicious dinner tonight with family & friends- so wanted to make sure I fit in a quick sweat sesh to make eating those after dinner cookies a less guilt ridden experience. Now excerise I know should not be used as a means to offset or punish what I eat – that is an unhealthy mindset I try to steer clear of. However, I like to think about it as a systems of checks and balances – you deposit in 3 cookies and a glass of wine and you take out 30 minutes of spinning. It’s all about balance – working out should never be a punishment – only a way to perpetuate the feel good feeling that working out releases.
I was feeling a bit lethargic (since I had been sitting around all day) so I decided to bike for 30 minutes (while watching Luke Cage on Netflix- talk about a great motivation to workout !) and then did a quick 15 minute HIIT workout from the Nike sweat app. While it wasn’t the toughest workout I’ve ever had- it felt good to just get my blood flowing.
Tomorrow im hoping if it’s warm enough, I can take a long run outside ! (It’s been forever- this cold weather has really been keeping me cooped up inside !)
